Description
Following the elegant and widely acclaimed design language of the Origine, Sylvain Pinaud introduces a new timepiece built on principles of balance, proportion, and clarity.
The architecture of the dial retains a refined asymmetry, carefully composed to preserve both visual harmony and legibility. The contrast between the black polished steel components, structuring the layout and the hand grained surfaces, plays with light in a unique way.
Particular attention has been given to proportions, resulting in a case and dial ensemble of notable coherence. The lines remain fluid and controlled, extending the neoclassical approach established by the Origine while introducing a stronger mechanical focal point.
As with all of Sylvain Pinaud’s creations, the movement is entirely developed and assembled in-house, with no compromise in terms of chronometry or reliability. The construction follows traditional watchmaking principles, using untreated or minimally altered materials such as nickel silver, titanium or gold, enhanced through extensive manual finishing.
The tourbillon’s 30-second rotation brings a constant, deliberate motion to the face of the watch, reinforcing the mechanical presence without overwhelming the overall composition. It is an invitation to dive into the mechanics and turn over the watch to discover the movement.
In the pursuit of chronometry, the tourbillon cage is made out of titanium in order to optimize efficiency with a 20% weight reduction, it offers an adequate balance between its inertia, and its fast rotation, and the movement frequency. A double barrel construction ensures stable energy delivery and a long power reserve.
In keeping with the chronometric mindset, the large seconds counter offer an aperture on the zero-reset mechanism, allowing for precise time-setting.
A particular attention was brought to the hand-finishing. Each component is hand-finished to the highest standards: bridges are bevelled with sharp inner angles, surfaces are either finely grained or satin finished, and steel parts are carefully brought to a black polish.
The large barrel bridge on the back is conceived as a sculptural element. The anglage work, hand-filed from a raw edge and hand polished, pays tribute to the finest traditions of watchmaking decoration through our own craftsmanship.
Wheels are individually decorated with anglage on both sides and circular brushing, and all functional elements are treated with the same level of attention, whether visible or not.
