Description
The 417 TI Desert Pilot Limited Edition brings one of Hanhart’s most emblematic pilot chronographs into a new material era. Inspired by the historic 417 ES of the 1950s, originally developed as a robust and highly legible instrument chronograph, this edition preserves the essential character of the original while translating it into a lighter, more technical and contemporary form.
For the first time in the history of the 417 line, the case is crafted from matte Grade 5 titanium. This material replaces the stainless steel traditionally associated with the “ES” designation and gives the watch a distinctively functional presence: lightweight, strong, corrosion-resistant and comfortable on the wrist. The sand-coloured dial, fluted rotating bezel with red marker and highly domed sapphire crystal underline the connection between historical pilot-watch design and the aesthetic language of modern desert exploration.
At the heart of the watch is the hand-wound Sellita AMT 5100 M calibre, a column-wheel chronograph movement with flyback function, hacking seconds and a power reserve of 58 hours. The movement can be viewed through the sapphire crystal case back, which also carries the limited-edition numbering. The chronograph offers a small seconds display, a 30-minute counter and central stop seconds.
The 417 TI Desert Pilot is water-resistant to 10 bar and equipped with Hanhart shock protection. Hands and numerals are coated with Super-LumiNova®, while the overall design deliberately prioritises daylight aesthetics and the warm, technical character of the sand-coloured dial. Worn on a textured FKM rubber strap with a Grade 5 titanium pin buckle, the watch combines historical DNA, modern material technology and uncompromising mechanical functionality.
