Description
Built on the heritage of the iconic Antarctic line, first associated with mid-century polar exploration, the Antarctic Erotic Salmon reinterprets one of Nivada Grenchen’s most recognizable designs with a discreet and unexpected mechanical twist. From the front, it remains faithful to the spirit of the original Antarctic: a balanced 38mm stainless steel case, vintage-inspired proportions, applied indexes, and a refined salmon sunray dial that gives the watch warmth, depth, and a subtle contemporary presence.
The surprise is revealed only when the watch is turned over. Beneath the sapphire caseback, a miniature penguin automaton comes to life exclusively during winding. Powered by the same hand-wound mechanical gesture that energizes the modified Soprod P054 movement, the animation is hidden from view during daily wear and reserved for the owner’s private enjoyment. No electronics, no battery, only a playful mechanical complication integrated into a traditional Swiss watchmaking architecture.
With its 316L stainless steel case, double-domed sapphire crystal, screw-down crown, 10 ATM water resistance, and carefully preserved vintage character, the Antarctic Erotic Salmon combines serious watchmaking credentials with humor, intimacy, and imagination.
