Year after year, the brand has presented its famous watch as a trophy to the masculine winners of the Admirals Cup; CORUM now offers women this new model imbued with an aura of sporting elegance.Iridescence\xa0The Manufacture in La Chaux-de-Fonds has chosen mother-of-pearl for the dial of this new model. This natural substance with its shimmering reflections \u2013 often lining the inside of certain shells \u2013 comes from the very depths of the oceans. Its undulating patterns echo the movement of the waves.Admirable assets\xa0The Competition 40 is equipped with a self-winding CO-082 movement with a 42-hour power reserve, protected by a screw-down back adorned with a reproduction of the Admirals Cup trophy. Arabic numerals carved from 18-carat red gold mark off five-minute intervals. They are coated with a luminescent substance to ensure perfect night-time readability, as indeed are the hour and minute hands. Meanwhile, the seconds hand features a counterweight shaped like the CORUM key symbol. The date is displayed at 3 oclock. Meanwhile, the hours are represented on the flange by the 12 traditional painted nautical pennants.Sheer elegance\xa0The bezel, crafted in red gold like the case, is set with 66 full-cut diamonds (totaling 0.94 carats). The glow and sparkle of the gold, diamonds and mother-of-pearl are cleverly enhanced by the use of white vulcanized rubber, rimming the bezel and protectively surrounding the screw-lock crown.A perfect match\xa0Available in a choice of several pastel colors or in black, the Competition consistently matches the color of the rubber accents and the strap with that of the dial. The steel versions are teamed with a rubber strap, while the gold variation comes with a crocodile leather strap.
