The dial with the indication of the twelve traditional hours portrays in addition, on an external circle, both the day of the week and the hour of the second time zone. This external circle is divided into seven parts that represent the seven days of the week, each one of them subdivided into the 24 hours of the day. Thus in the same axis of rotation as the 2 main needles, that mark the local hours and minutes, a third hand indicates the day of the week and hour (both AM and PM) of the second time zone. This third needle will perform one complete rotation in one week, traversing 168 hours (24 hours to day x 7 days). The characteristic division of the sphere in seven segments of the outer circle has given the name of SEGMENTAL to this model. Evidently the minute hand will be common to the two hour zones. Cette troisime aiguille finalise sa course du cadran, au bout d'une semaine, parcourant ainsi les 168 heures (24 heures par jour x 7 jours) que constituent la semaine.La division caractristique du cadran en sept tranches, secteurs ou segments, ont donn le nom de SEGMENTAL ce modle.Evidemment, l'aiguille des minutes est commune aux deux fuseaux horaires et s'interprte avec l'aiguille principale des minutes.
