BLUE SHARK III: STRONGER THAN EVER The DELMA Blue Shark III was launched in 2019 in celebration of the company’s 95th anniversary and 50 years since the release of its first divers’ watch. Since the 1960s when scuba diving emerged as a sport of leisure, diving watches have grown in popularity, however only a few professional models are actually equipped for deep-sea exploration. Among them, the DELMA Blue Shark collection stands out as a reference in the category. The Blue Shark III, which was officially presented in Basel this March, is a model of exceptional robustness and has been tested and certified by the Swiss PST Laboratory for water resistance to 4000 meters. Inspired by Switzerland The inspiration to create a watch with a water resistance of 4000 m is derived from DELMA’s Swiss surroundings. “Switzerland has forty-eight alpine peaks reaching beyond 4000 m. For an independent Swiss brand like Delma, reaching at least an equivalent depth was both a formidable technical challenge and a strong symbol” explains Andreas Leibundgut, Head of Marketing at DELMA. Built to perform The Blue Shark III is fitted with essential components to make it the ultimate dive watch. A helium valve at 9 o’clock gradually releases trapped gas while preserving the water tightness of the watch as much as the safety of the diver. The easy to read dial with bold numerals, indexes and hands covered with Super-Luminova enables clear legibility in the depths of the sea. The sturdy, unidirectional, stainless-steel bezel offers accurate and safe measurement of the elapsed dive time and is easy to handle even with dive gloves. The custom crown protection safeguards the screw-down crown to ensure ultimate water tightness. Ready to explore While the Blue Shark III is developed to meet the extreme requirements of professionals, the designers and engineers put great emphasis on creating not only a state-of-the-art instrument but also a functional timepiece for everyday life. The vigorous and practical case is just 47 mm in diameter x 18.5 mm high and emanates sporty style with mesmerizing neon details. The security screws and bespoke tools enable easy and reliable adjustment of the interchangeable solid stainless-steel bracelet and genuine rubber strap. Set in a customized natural wooden box, the Blue Shark III is prepared for every adventure.
