Description

The Grand Soir ‘Ciel de Granville’ collection invites us to dream, showcasing the winter garden of the Villa des Rhumbs. The view from its conservatory window immerses us in a moment of contemplation of the stars.

We thus observe the stars and the sky evolving over time, just as Christian Dior did as a child. In the foreground, delicate engraved gold foliage and mother-of-pearl flowers run along the geometric lines of the rosace. A rain of diamonds and sapphire stars punctuate the majestic sky that subtly reveals other decors when observed in the dark. On an iridescent mother-of-pearl dial, we can discern the moon and the Aquarius constellation, Monsieur Dior's astrological sign.

The luminous variations of the starry sky are accentuated by the movement of the decor in the background. It completes a full rotation in two hours, bringing the celestial landscape to life.

On the back, the story continues with the drawing of the facade of the Granville house on the translucent tinted glass, revealing a glimpse of the movement of the engraved oscillating weight.

At the heart of the Grand Soir “Ciel de Granville” collection beats a movement specially adapted to incorporate a poetic and complex animation. The dial completes a full rotation in approximately two hours, simulating the movement of the sky and the evolution of the stars over time.

This movement is not just a mechanism for measuring time; it is a veritable miniature theater that recreates the contemplation of the Granville sky, combining fine watchmaking with unique visual poetry.
