The DRZ 05 Solaris’s Story

Inspired by the super compressor watches from the 60’s, the Solaris features a new way of tracking time under water by using a clever system of circles, which offers a very distinctive and unique graphic language without the need to use typography (15-30-45).

The DRZ 05 Solaris is the continuation of the DRZ 03 Eclipse’s design process. The dial is produced in two parts: an inner matt disc (for the limited edition the dial is made of a piece of Muonionalusta Meteorite) and sunburst outer circle (subtly fumé). The dial comes with applied indices and a calendar disc positioned at 6 o’clock. The inner rotating ring has a curved section, reminiscent of the previous model's bowl shape, which is one of the signatures of the brand.

At 39 mm in diameter, this timepiece combines an amazing presence on the wrist with maximum wearing comfort.

Inside the case, there is a Sellita SW-200-1 elaboré with incabloc shock protection system, making this timepiece affordable for those interested to start their horological journey. The efficient automatic winding system builds up a power reserve of at least 38 hours in the mainspring. The balance oscillates at a frequency of 4 hertz (28,800 beats per hour), ensuring a high level of precision.

DIRENZO watches was founded in 2016 by architect and watch designer Sergio Godoy Di Renzo with a clear goal: to produce a range of uniquely exquisite watches inspired by the timeless aesthetics of mid-20th-century race cars and aircraft.

Supplied by the brand to the GPHG for its entry.
