Description

The Tiburón is a timepiece born of the Caribbean and finished with Swiss precision, 100% conceived and designed in Puerto Rico. Tiburón is the Spanish word for shark — and the watch is named for the predators that patrol the waters around the island: silent, deliberate, and built for the depths. The design captures the shark in three registers at once: the deep blue of open water where it hunts, the lighter blue of the reef shallows where it cruises, and the matte, textured skin that lets it move unseen.

The dial is a deep, saturated blue with a radial brushed finish that catches the light in rays from the center outward, shifting from electric cobalt to near-midnight as the wrist moves. Against it sit oversized square hour markers paired with bold sword hands, all charged with an exceptionally generous application of light-blue lume that glows in a cool, aquatic cyan once the lights go down. By day, the markers read as soft cream against the blue dial; by night, the watch transforms into a luminous, underwater field of ice-blue light. The bezel insert is finished in a contrasting light, almost glacial blue, the color of Caribbean shallows, creating a striking two-tone harmony between the dial and bezel that reads as both vintage skin-diver and unmistakably contemporary. The unidirectional bezel delivers crisp, satisfying action, the kind of tactile feedback that rewards the wearer every time the watch is handled.

At its heart beats a Swiss automatic Sellita SW200-B movement (no ghost date), assembled in the U.S.A. inside a 39 mm case of forged and heat-treated 316L stainless steel. The case, lugs, and bezel are finished in a uniform sandblasted texture that mimics the matte, slate-grey skin of a shark. The bezel itself features deep, aggressive coin-edge knurling that delivers exceptional grip — manipulable with cold, wet, or gloved hands, and a satisfying tactile signature in everyday wear. A generously sized crown sits at three o'clock, equally easy to grip and true to the watch's tool-diver intent. The double-sided anti-reflective sapphire crystal preserves clarity in any light, from the glare of midday sun on open water to the half-light of a dive. Water resistance is rated to 300 meters, placing the Tiburón firmly in the territory of a serious tool watch. The watch ships on a nylon NATO strap, true to its skin-diver heritage.

What sets the Tiburón apart is what you find when you turn it over. The case back is engraved with "El Jíbaro Buzo"™ — the Diving Jíbaro — an original work by Puerto Rican artist Ana del Mar "Anita" Salas, co-founder of the brand. The Jíbaro, the iconic figure of the Puerto Rican countryman, is here reimagined as a diver: a meeting of mountain and sea, of inland heritage and coastal life, that captures the dual soul of the island. It is at once a maker's mark, a cultural statement, and a piece of wearable art.
