With the Endeavour Minute Repeater Cylindrical Tourbillon Skeleton Cosmic Rain, H. Moser & Cie. reinterprets one of its most complex creations in a limited edition of 20 pieces, where horological excellence meets the artistic crafts. Housed in a 40 mm titanium case, this exceptional timepiece combines a minute repeater displayed on the dial side, a flying tourbillon equipped with a cylindrical hairspring, and a fully skeletonised hand-wound movement. Complementing this technical feat is an artistic dimension embodied by a miniature aventurine dial adorned with delicate mother-of-pearl inlays. Bridging sound, motion and light, this creation explores the many facets of watchmaking artistry and celebrates the meeting of tradition, innovation and artisanal craftsmanship.

In this exceptional timepiece, the minute repeater takes centre stage. The hammers and gongs, traditionally concealed on the reverse side of the movement, are revealed on the dial side. This distinctive construction required a complete rethinking of the calibre’s architecture in order to deliver impeccable acoustic performance while offering an unobstructed view of the mechanism. The beauty of the chime is matched by that of the movement itself, unveiled through meticulous skeletonisation. Openworked bridges, lightened structures and uninterrupted sightlines invite the eye to travel freely through the calibre.

At 2 o’clock, interrupting this transparency, a domed aventurine subdial immediately captures attention with its depth and visual richness. For this creation, fragments of aventurine glass in two different colours are applied by hand onto a domed base to create H. Moser & Cie.’s signature fumé gradient, before undergoing multiple “Grand Feu” firings.

Once this first stage is complete, the dial is subjected to a second, exceptionally delicate artistic process. Fine strips of mother-of-pearl are cut, subtly curved and carefully set into a pre-engraved surface, following the contours of the dial. Their softly iridescent glow appears to drift through the depths of the aventurine like a shower of stars across a night sky. Each individual strip is positioned by hand, transforming this miniature dial into a unique composition where glass, light and matter converge.

This artistic work does not compete with the mechanics; it complements them. While the minute repeater speaks to the ear and the tourbillon expresses the precision of motion, the aventurine and mother-of-pearl captivate the eye. Three distinct languages united within a single creation.
