The Beginning of a New Cycle

The Equinox model marks the start of a new cycle for NATIONAL WATCH. Founded in 1904 in La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland, the brand descends from a company that, in its time, succeeded in reducing the mechanical watch to its essential form in order to make it more accessible. In 2025, NATIONAL WATCH returns by transposing this philosophy into the codes of contemporary independent watchmaking.

A Proven Base and an Authentic Technical Character

As the first creation of this revival, this timepiece relies on a well-known and reputable Swiss Made base calibre.

Our atelier has modified this movement to bring the balance wheel and escapement to the dial side — a fundamental shift that offers a fresh mechanical perspective. The face of the watch comes to life with a constant, visible pulsation — pure and without artifice.

Minimalist and refined, the dial integrates seamlessly into the construction of the watch, appearing to merge with the whole. Off-centered and seemingly suspended above the mainplate, it engages in a subtle dialogue with the balance wheel, creating a play of layers and volumes that gives the timepiece a unique three-dimensional architecture.

A Production Faithful to Its Roots

For this first collection — limited to 5 pieces in the configuration presented — we relied as much as possible on local partners. Technical development and assembly are carried out in-house in La Chaux-de-Fonds. Moreover, all components specific to this watch are manufactured in the Jura Arc, mostly in the heart of the watchmaking metropolis.

Finally, the PMMA glass, produced in Switzerland, brings a touch of warmth to the piece. It subtly echoes watches of the past, while benefiting from a modern treatment that limits scratches.
