Description
Genèse is the first creation of Geneva-based independent watchmaker Gregory Proz. It is the culmination of an idea born after receiving the Best Student Award from the Geneva Watchmaking School at the GPHG in 2004.
Driven by the desire to reveal the beauty of the mechanical movement, Gregory Proz envisioned an inverted architecture in which the entire calibre is displayed on the dial side. The movement thus becomes the true face of the watch, offering a unique way of reading time through the very heart of its mechanics.
Equipped with an in-house developed hand-wound calibre offering a 72 hour power reserve and beating at 18,000 vibrations per hour, Genèse displays the hours, minutes and small seconds, while its moon phase is discreetly positioned on the caseback, seamlessly integrated into the movement’s architecture.
Every detail reflects a constant pursuit of balance between mechanical architecture and traditional finishing. The hand-finished bevels, artisanal decorations and meticulous attention given to every component embody an approach faithful to the finest traditions of haute horlogerie.
More than a first timepiece, Genèse marks the beginning of an independent journey where passion, emotion and craftsmanship come together to express a deeply personal vision of watchmaking.
Supplied by the brand to the GPHG for its entry.
