Constantly in search of new materials for their creations, the master-craftsmen of the House decided to rise to a new and original challenge: that of fashioning a rare timepiece from a rare wood, ebony, and more specifically heart wood ebony.A luminous idea born from a very dark wood\u2026Rarely does a new material so inspire a team already in the practice of imagining the unimaginable. The designers' creative reflections resulted in two obvious conclusions. The first was that this watch would be both sensual in appearance and rigid to the touch, and that it would encircle the wrist of a charismatic woman with a taste for exclusivity. The second was that the case to be inlaid into this bracelet would naturally draw upon the history of Harry Winston and of the Avenue collection, representing a new variation of the latter and thus earning the name Avenue Bangle Ebony. Artistic craftsmanship and finishingThe brand's superlative quality demands are perceptible in the details. The case is inlaid into the wood in such a way that the gem-set dial, featuring the two arches that confirm its belonging to the family of Harry Winston timepieces, are on a level with the surface of the bangle itself. The Harry Winston master-craftsmen have designed several fascinating interpretations of this exceptional creation. \xa0Three variations are offered.The first model is designed to highlight the contrast between the brilliance of the Brilliant-cut diamonds and the blackness of the ebony. On the second, the Arabesque model, an arabesque motif in white gold is inlaid directly into the wood. This superb craftsmanship is reminiscent of the specialized art of marquetry-work.The third draws inspiration from one of the many roses that Pierre Joseph Redout (1759-1940) painted from 1817 onwards for the Empress Josephine, wife of Napoleon the 1st. The engraved, inlaid and diamond-set motif reproduced on the bangle bracelet is the Rosa Indica, an old tea rose chosen for the perfection of its shape and the pristine whiteness of the flower, which reflects the sparkle of diamonds. Sans cesse la recherche de matriaux nouveaux pour leurs crations, les ma\xeetres artisans de la Maison ont dcid de relever un nouveau dfi indit : fa\xe7onner un bracelet-montre rare partir d'une essence rare, l'bne, et plus exactement le coeur d'bne.Une ide lumineuse ne d'un bois trs sombre\u2026Rarement matriau n'aura autant enflamm les esprits d'une quipe pourtant habitue aux paris les plus fous. Car avec son grain uni et son air mystrieux, l'bne est impressionnant apprhender et sa grande duret est trs difficile travailler. La rflexion crative aboutit rapidement deux vidences. La premire est que le prcieux bracelet-montre sera la fois sensuel d'aspect et rigide au toucher, et qu'il pousera le poignet d'une femme charismatique, sensible l'exclusif. La seconde est que le bo\xeetier s'incrustant dans ce bracelet devra s'inspirer naturellement de l'histoire de Harry Winston et de la collection Avenue : elle en constituera donc une nouvelle dclinaison et s'appellera, logiquement, Avenue Bangle Ebony. Un fermoir original vient se poser sur le bracelet devenu bracelet esclave : deux demi-charnires verrouilles par une goupille, elle-m\xeame relie au bracelet par une cha\xeenette en or blanc. L'objet reprsentait un tel dfi que certains bnistes dcideront de ne pas le relever.Un travail et des finitions d'artiste\u2026L'exigence de qualit de la Maison se voit dans les dtails. Ainsi, la bo\xeete est littralement incruste dans le bois de manire ce que la face sertie, dont les deux arches ne laissent aucun doute sur l'appartenance de la montre la famille des garde-temps Harry Winston, soit fleur avec la surface du bracelet. Les ma\xeetres artisans Harry Winston se sont donn la main pour faire honneur cette pice d'exception et crer des finitions indites.Trois dclinaisons sont donc proposes.La premire fait la part belle au contraste, celui de la splendeur des diamants taille brillant avec la noirceur nue de l'bne, crant un ensemble l'lgance sobre. La seconde, modle Arabesque, voit le bracelet non serti en or gris dployer des arabesques incrustes m\xeame le bois. Ce travail superbe n'est pas sans voquer l'art exigeant de la marqueterie.La troisime, enfin, s'inspire de l'une des innombrables roses que Pierre Joseph Redout (1759-1840) peignit ds 1817 pour l'impratrice Josphine, pouse de Napolon 1er. Le motif grav, incrust et serti de diamants, reproduit sur le bracelet de l'Avenue Bangle Ebony est la Rosa Indica, la Grande indienne, choisi pour la perfection de sa forme et la blancheur de la fleur refltant l'clat des diamants. Cette fleur vient se poser en relief sur le bois, les ptales s'y noyant en surpaisseur et le c\u0153ur tant constitu d'un diamant incrust.Exquise et indite, hommage dlicat la beaut fminine, l'Avenue Bangle Ebony de Harry Winston va faire tourner les t\xeates et chavirer les coeurs.\xa0
