Description
A new case, a new aesthetic, a new movement: the Kubera Series 1 model combines a sculptural design inspired by Cubism and its fragmented approach to form with a mechanical, handless time display. Embraced by a steel case that extends into an integrated bracelet, seemingly carved from a single block, a jumping hour is paired with a peripheral minute display.
Capturing attention from the very first glance, the Kubera Series 1 case features a layered architecture composed of successive levels that sculpt light and enhance the watch’s three-dimensional presence, creating an almost monolithic silhouette. Each surface reflects the light differently, revealing a subtle interplay of volumes and textures. The integrated bracelet seamlessly extends this effect. Its links cascade like a geometric sequence of articulated shapes, gradually decreasing in size to ensure visual continuity and a smooth fit on the wrist. The deep green dial echoes the same design language. Its structured surface creates a subtle geometric relief that catches the light while preserving a strong sense of graphic purity.
The minimalist time display mechanism is equally restrained. The hour appears in a window, jumping instantly every sixty minutes. The minutes, meanwhile, are indicated with precision by a cursor moving around the dial’s periphery, guided by a track hidden beneath the surface.
The Kubera Series 1 is powered by a Lajoux-Perret self-winding movement, featuring an anti-magnetic escapement introduced for the first time at HAUTLENCE. The jumping hours and peripheral minutes module, developed by Agenhor in collaboration with HAUTLENCE, completes this mechanical architecture and turns the act of reading the time into a dynamic visual experience, where the movement replaces the traditional hand.
In naming this new collection, the brand took inspiration from Hindu mythology. Kubera, the god of wealth and guardian of underground treasures, is associated with the earth, mountains and precious minerals. This reference reflects the watch’s aesthetic: an object with sculpted surfaces and rich textures, evoking the layers and contours of a material shaped by time.
