Description

For as long as travelers have crossed borders and hemispheres, the question of time has followed them. Yet one challenge has always remained unsolved: the half-hour and quarter-hour offsets that govern some regions of the world, quietly defying the neat logic of the 24-zone system.

The Escale Twin Zone, powered by the LFT VO 15.01 movement developed at La Fabrique du Temps Louis Vuitton, displays two pairs of hands on a single axis. It enables precise adjustments to the nearest quarter hour across all time zones worldwide, including those with non-standard offsets. The solid hands display local time, while the skeleton hands indicate the home timezone. “The idea was to create a travel watch for everyone, not only for those living within the conventional 24 times zones”, explains Michel Navas. “The Twin Zone function offers fifteen and thirty-minute offsets, with no added complexity for the wearer”.

The 40mm case in rose gold carries the heritage of Louis Vuitton’s Art of Travel. The Escale’s signature lugs draw their inspiration from the brass corners of the House’s iconic trunks, while the sunray-brushed silver dial is finely engraved with meridians and parallels, evoking the cartography of a world in motion. The opaline flange encircling the dial is a refined allusion to the trunk’s distinctive studs. A timepiece in which technical ingenuity and aesthetic refinement are seamlessly woven into the enduring legacy of Louis Vuitton.
