Description

Half Time / Green Line Half Time is Ludovic Ballouards second in-house complication where his philosophy shines through yet again; the most important time is the present. This year Ludovic presented the Half Time / Green Line with a green and gold-plated dial in a platinum case. It is impossible to influence time as one can only measure it and not stop it entirely, yet Ludovic Ballouard has managed to find a way to perpetually remind you of the importance of the present by splitting the hour numerals in two and placing them on two disks. The outer disk holds the upper half of the Roman numerals, and the inner disk the bottom half. All the hour numerals are not lined up except at the position of 12 oclock where the present hour is correctly displayed. One disk rotates clockwise, the other anticlockwise and they rotate upon reaching the full hour thus changing the aligned numeral at the position of 12 oclock. The minutes are displayed in retrograde minutes at the position of 6 oclock. Ludovic Ballouard is a witty and eccentric independent watchmaker with an aim of creating unique highly complicated timepieces that embody his philosophy and heart. He questions our relationship with time whilst never forgetting to add a touch of humor as he puts a smile on your face and has you reflecting about time.
