Description
ARCHITECT OF GOLDEN COSMOS is the result of an encounter between two disciplines that rarely speak the same language: architecture and haute horlogerie.
Created by MAURON MUSY in collaboration with Italian architect Arturo Tedeschi, the timepiece transforms contemporary architectural research into a wearable work of art. Known internationally for his pioneering work in computational and parametric design, Tedeschi approaches form as a consequence of structure, generating complex geometries through algorithms rather than traditional drawing.
For ARCHITECT OF GOLDEN COSMOS, this architectural language becomes the foundation of the watch itself. The openworked upper structure is conceived through digital modelling, transformed through additive manufacturing, cast in solid 18K red gold and finally hand-finished by artisans. The result is neither a dial nor a decorative overlay, but a sculptural composition suspended above the movement.
This creative process brings together technologies of the future and métiers d'art inherited from centuries of craftsmanship. Algorithmic design, gold casting, hand-finishing and skeletonized watchmaking converge within a single object, each discipline enriching the others without compromising its identity.
Beneath this architectural sculpture lies a Muonionalusta meteorite formed more than 4.5 billion years ago. Its naturally occurring crystalline patterns establish a dialogue between human creation and cosmic matter, between calculated geometry and organic imperfection.
The piece also embodies the spirit of MAURON MUSY, a manufacture built on questioning established conventions and developing proprietary solutions. Here, innovation is not expressed through technology alone, but through the fusion of architecture, craftsmanship and mechanical art.
Produced in a limited edition of 27 pieces, ARCHITECT OF GOLDEN COSMOS stands as a contemporary expression of Métiers d'Art, where digital creation, traditional craftsmanship and horological excellence merge into a singular artistic statement.
