Description
A Horological Symphony in Titanium.
The Grande Sonnerie stands as the ultimate expression of horological mastery and acoustic excellence. A true feat of engineering and craftsmanship, this exceptional timepiece embodies the culmination of months of meticulous work by Bvlgari master watchmakers, bringing together hundreds of components orchestrated in perfect mechanical harmony.
With the Octo Roma Grande Sonnerie, Bvlgari pushes the boundaries of contemporary Haute Horlogerie through a bold architectural vision and an uncompromising technical approach. Housed in a satin-polished titanium case, the watch combines extreme lightness with outstanding robustness, enhancing both comfort and performance. The openworked middle case and sun-brushed rhodium-finish skeletonized dial reveal the refined mechanics within, allowing light to flow through the movement and emphasizing its modern, technical character.
At the heart of the watch beats the BVV 800 manufacture movement, a manually wound caliber integrating a Grande and Petite Sonneries, a minute repeater with a four-hammer chime, and a flying tourbillon ensuring optimal chronometric precision. Power reserve indicators for both the movement and the striking mechanism underscore the functional sophistication of this acoustic masterpiece, while the transparent case back offers a privileged view of its finely finished architecture.
Breaking with the classical consensus of horological musicality, the four notes of its Grande Sonnerie, previously set to the Big Ben chime, depart from the tones of the Westminster chime. Its quarter-hour chimes are sounded on four unfamiliar, intriguing, and unique notes: those of the famous “Forbidden Chord”. As a way of prompting the wearer to pay attention and count the strikes, the melody creates a sense of alertness that perfectly matches the nature of a watch that tells the time audibly.
