The 1995 cinematic masterpiece Godzilla vs. Destoroyah—one of the world’s most influential monster movies—is reimagined through the concept of a collectible model within a 42mm timepiece. This achieves the ultimate dream of every collector: wearing a beloved sculpture on the wrist to admire at any moment.This is a pioneering collaboration between the toy brand PeariA and the watchmaking brand BW.

This timepiece is a rare “double-sided 3D miniature” sculptural watch. Utilizing BW’s exclusive ultra-precision casting process and expert hand-chasing, the King of the Monsters’ distinctive jagged dorsal fins and tail are seamlessly integrated across six brass sculptural components. This creates a breathtaking three-dimensional depth on both sides of the watch while maintaining a refined thickness for comfortable daily wear. This piece represents a bold and pioneering milestone in modern IP-collaborative watchmaking.

One of the most distinctive features of this piece lies in its double-sided painting technique. The colors were meticulously applied by Taiwanese artist Chia-mi Chao, a graduate of the Sculpture Department of the Florence Academy of Fine Arts, whose heritage traces back to the Accademia delle Arti del Disegno founded in Florence in 1563—an institution closely associated with Michelangelo and the artistic legacy of the Italian Renaissance. She employed a rare “black light painting” (UV-reactive miniature painting) technique, allowing the Godzilla sculpture to reveal two entirely different color profiles under natural light and ultraviolet (UV) illumination. Under UV light, it bursts into a cinematic spectacle of “blazing fire” and background “lightning shadows.” This delivers rich artistic layers and immense collectible value to both the front and back of the watch. To guarantee its artistic exclusivity, the artist hand-signed a hidden inner surface of the watch components, certifying that every single timepiece is individually hand-painted.

The production utilizes a miniature casting process, where highly precise digital wax sculpting is deployed to create the micro-molds.

(Please note: No AI technology is used in any stage of production; every process is executed manually, and even the digital sculpting is performed entirely by hand on a computer.) The digital sculpture was brought to life by master sculptor Chia Lung-Hsi, who brings over 30 years of professional experience to the project.

The ultra-precise components produced via miniature casting then undergo secondary CNC precision machining for exact positioning, incorporating hidden maintenance screw holes within the sculpture. This ensures seamless serviceability and ease of preservation for decades to come.

The watch is powered by the exceptionally stable ETA 7001 caliber, chosen for its high reliability and globally accessible spare parts. This piece takes advantage of the hand-wound, ultra-thin caliber to maximize internal architectural space. With Tainan, Taiwan serving as the watchmaking hub, the project unites master artisans and artists from across Asia (China, Taiwan, Japan), where every element—including the metalwork, painting, case construction, final assembly, and strap—is meticulously handcrafted.

To replicate the iconic texture of Godzilla’s skin, the strap is crafted from premium cowhide featuring a bespoke ostrich-pattern embossment. It was individually created by Mr. Huang Sheng-Hsiang, a master leather artisan with ten years of experience specializing in haute horlogerie straps.

This collaboration, the PeariA × Bard’s Whisper “Burning Godzilla 30th Anniversary Handcrafted High-End Collectible Timepiece,” is a cross-disciplinary endeavor that shatters the traditional boundaries of watchmaking.
