Description
OR3X is a Romanian watch brand founded by independent watchmaker Vlad Miron.
Limited to an exclusive edition of only 10 pieces, the R3START series draws inspiration from Bauhaus design principles and the brutalist industrial objects manufactured in Romania during the 1980s and 1990s—a period that shaped the watchmaker’s childhood and creative vision.
Every single watch was designed, engineered, fabricated, hand-finished, and assembled entirely by Vlad Miron alone in his workshop near Bucharest, driven by the highest levels of precision, care, and passion.
The OR3X R3START is housed in a 39mm 316L stainless steel case, machined completely in-house. It is then meticulously finished, polished, and grained using bespoke machinery built by the watchmaker himself. All external steel components—including the crown, crown tube, and case screws—are likewise fabricated, finished, and polished by hand.
The dial is crafted from a raw brass sheet and produced entirely in-house. It is manually formed, welded, grained, painted, and pad-printed. Its underside is decorated with perlage, a detail the owner will never see, yet finished to the same standard as every visible surface.
The hands are cut from steel plates, hand-filed to a rounded profile, and finished to a black-polished standard, while the seconds hand pipe is traditionally machined on a watchmaker's lathe.
The sapphire case back reveals an ETA 2824-2 Top Grade movement, its rotor skeletonized by hand with a jeweler's saw and finished with hand-executed anglage à la lime, a skill Vlad Miron acquired directly from master artisans in the Vallée de Joux. The brass movement retaining ring, also machined in-house, is decorated with perlage despite remaining hidden unless the case is opened.
The OR3X R3START is fitted with a grey hand-sewn suede calfskin strap sourced from a local Romanian artisan and presented in a handcrafted wooden box, proudly made in Romania, reflecting the brand’s commitment to local craftsmanship throughout every aspect of the watch.
