Description

Audemars Piguet is pleased to unveil its latest iteration of the Royal Oak Offshore Selfwinding Flying Tourbillon Chronograph. Showcasing an interplay of contrasts, this athletic 43 mm timepiece combines a black ceramic bezel and titanium components with a CFT carbon case middle accented with touches of red. Revealed in 2024 after five years of development, CFT carbon (Chroma Forged Technology) was created in Audemars Piguet’s Materials Fab Lab. This innovative ultra-light material presents a distinctive aesthetic defined by deep-black tones enhanced with subtle flashes of colour. Non-porous, CFT carbon also guarantees resistance to humidity, heat and shocks. The vivid red opaline inner bezel brings attention to the architectural dial opening onto the movement, which features black titanium bridges decorated with satin-brushed finishes and red microblasted inserts.

The white-gold hour and minute hands filled with luminescent material echo the titanium push-piece guards and bracelet studs. At 12 o’clock, the “AP” monogram is directly applied to one of the bridges, between the flyback chronograph counters. The complex case displays enlarged polished chamfers on the flanks, while the bezel and sapphire crystal are vertically curved along the 12-6 o’clock axis to amplify the timepiece’s three-dimensional character. Furthering contrast, the watch is paired with an interchangeable red textured calfskin leather strap equipped with an AP folding clasp. An additional black rubber strap completes the timepiece for a more active wear. Offering an immersive view of its inner-workings, the flying tourbillon at 6 o’clock is powered by selfwinding Calibre 2967, equipped with an openworked 22-carat pink gold oscillating weight with black PVD treatment. This latest variation embodies the Manufacture’s creativity, fuelled by traditional craftsmanship and technological exploration.
