Description
In 1972, Piaget created a collection of several Kimono pocket watches, playing with asymmetrical shapes, the colours of ornamental stones, and the sensuality of touch with this pebble shape that can be easily held in the hand. Today, Piaget celebrates that audacity with a contemporary reinterpretation, capturing the essence of the original while forging a new path forward. For Piaget, time has always been more than a measure, it’s also a movement, a rhythm, a dance. The Swinging Pebbles embody this philosophy once again : watches which celebrate shapes, craftsmanship, and freedom. The seamless harmony of gold, ornamental stones, and timekeeping reflects Piaget’s unrivaled mastery of each. Staying faithful to the original design, a carved and polished ornamental stone pebble frames a watch case that is perfectly nested within, a true demonstration of Piaget’s expertise in both watchmaking and high jewellery. Each pebble is sculpted from a single slice of stone, carefully selected for its colour, its unique veining, and its beautiful luster by Piaget’s internal gemologists. The challenge is even greater as the dial must flawlessly match the pebble case. Each pendant hangs from a sinuous, twisted gold chain, tribute to Piaget’s expertise in goldsmithing and chainmaking, a know-how internally mastered since the 60’s.
