Description
The Table Waltz Tourbillon introduced the first tourbillon created in Vienna in more than a century. With the Mirror Edition, Carl Suchy & Söhne presents a pièce unique that further develops this contemporary interpretation of Austrian haute horlogerie.
Conceived as a horological object at the intersection of design, craftsmanship and mechanical innovation, the Table Waltz Tourbillon reflects a distinctly Viennese understanding of time. Rather than functioning solely as an instrument for measurement, it transforms time into a visible performance of movement, rhythm and sound.
At its core is the CS-T-1 tourbillon movement, developed and manufactured entirely in Austria. Composed of more than fifty individual components, the tourbillon rotates continuously on its own axis, introducing a dynamic visual dimension while representing one of watchmaking’s most demanding mechanical disciplines. Positioned as the focal point of the composition, it transforms technical precision into an ever-changing choreography of motion.
The case is milled from a single block of brass, subsequently nickel plated and finished with a lacquered surface. In contrast, the movement, tourbillon, and silver bell are rhodium plated, giving the mechanism a cooler, mirror-like presence that sharpens its definition and enhances its structural depth.
Designed by Rainer Mutsch and realised by master watchmaker Therese Wibmer, the Table Waltz Tourbillon combines architectural clarity with mechanical precision. The movement is framed by hand-cut and hand-engraved crystal panels developed in collaboration with the Viennese glassmaker J. & L. Lobmeyr, offering an unobstructed view of both the tourbillon and the striking mechanism.
Bringing together Austrian watchmaking, Viennese design and traditional craftsmanship, the Table Waltz Tourbillon Mirror Edition reinterprets a historic discipline for the present day. It stands as a contemporary expression of Vienna’s enduring contribution to the culture of time, where technical mastery and artistic refinement form a single, coherent whole.
