Description
TANJA is not a watch about precision. It is a watch about perspective.
This watch is an ode to Tangier during its era as an International Zone (from the mid-1920s to 1956) — that singular city where artists, diplomats, spies, writers, and adventurers from every corner of the world coexisted in unlikely harmony. TANJA is a tribute to what becomes possible when difference meets openness.
The dial is set with natural, authentic meteorite — a material older than Earth itself. Before our oceans formed, before life appeared on this planet, this stone already existed. It is not an aesthetic choice. It is a provocation: if this fragment has traversed four billion years, what does it tell us about the little time we have here — and the way we choose to spend it?
That is MAGANA's founding question. And its answer: Make time for who and what matters — invest your time in what and who truly counts.
Naturally, the watch is built with care and attention. TANJA features a satin-brushed 316L stainless steel case, a Miyota quartz movement, and a caseback engraved with a Zellige mosaic pattern — a discreet nod to the Moroccan heritage of its founder. Every watch sold finances the planting of 212 trees in sub-Saharan Africa, a commitment honoured since MAGANA's launch in April 2023.
In a world where watchmaking is often judged by heritage, functions, or finishing, MAGANA offers something else: a new philosophical approach to time. The time our watches measure is the only true equaliser of humanity. We all have 60 minutes in an hour and 24 hours in a day. We cannot accumulate it, transfer it, or stop it. Our TANJA Meteorite is an invitation for each of us to invest our time with intention.
Supplied by the brand to the GPHG for its entry.
