In an age when smartwatches and smartphones have perfectly solved the problem of precise timekeeping, what is the true purpose of a mechanical watch?

We have become accustomed to glancing at a dial simply to read the time, yet rarely do we perceive the passage of a duration itself. This watch employs a combined hour-and-second display architecture in which the hour disc advances through a 90-degree arc every fifteen minutes, allowing the wearer to intuitively experience a segment of time unfolding. Through a mechanical object, objective time is transformed into a subjective perception of duration.

Slowing Down Through Reverse Thinking

Modern life moves at an ever-increasing pace. This watch proposes an alternative rhythm.

On the left side of the dial, a counter-rotating seconds wheel completes one revolution every two minutes. Moving in the opposite direction and at half the speed of the central seconds indication, it introduces a deliberate visual contradiction.
