To celebrate its Centenary, Van Cleef Arpels has surpassed itself to create an exceptional watch requiring all of its expertise: thanks to an exclusive new complication, the Lady Arpels Centenary represents the summit of glamour and watchmaking excellence.Its round 36 mm case with its central attachments designed by Pierre Arpels in 1949 follows the design of a great House classic; the PA 49. The case and attachments are entirely set with brilliant cut diamonds of the highest DEF- VVS quality.However, the magic and mystery of this watch lie in its dial representing the four seasons:- The face is composed of two sections. The first in natural white mother-of-pearl, a material often used in the creation of the jewels of the House.- The second part is an enamelled disk, hand painted by one of the last master enamellers of Geneva; more than fifty hours of painstaking work are required to paint an extraordinary garden evolving with Autumn, Winter, Spring and Summer. An ode to Nature, one of the predominant themes in the Van Cleef Arpels creative process, this enchanting landscape is a representation of the House's most celebrated emblems: flowers and leaves, butterflies and dragonflies, snow crystals\u2026- The movement, through extreme technical expertise, turns the disk almost imperceptibly on a 365 day cycle. Thus, a new landscape is revealed every day.
