Description

LOTH Watch 1 is the debut timepiece of Singaporean independent watchmaking atelier LOTH (Lab of Tristan Ho). Conceived, hand-finished and assembled in Singapore, it represents an exploration of traditional watchmaking craft through the lens of a new generation of independent horology.

At its heart lies a hand-wound movement built upon the venerable ETA 6498 architecture, reimagined with custom German silver bridges designed to showcase hand-finishing as a central expression of the watch. Wide, flowing anglage with sharp internal angles, hand-polished screws, double-snailing and numerous manually executed decorative details transform an industrial movement into a highly artisanal creation. Each component is finished individually using traditional techniques and hand-operated tools.

The watch features a two-part dial composed of untreated German silver and stainless steel. Its signature Mosaic finish is executed entirely by hand, with every surface created through a free-form process that cannot be replicated exactly. As a result, no two examples are identical. The finish reflects the belief that beauty emerges through the accumulation of seemingly random moments, much like the journey of craftsmanship itself.

German silver was selected for both the dial and movement bridges as a tribute to nineteenth-century watchmaking. Left untreated, the material develops a natural patina over time, allowing each watch to evolve uniquely alongside its owner.

Produced as a limited series of twelve pieces, LOTH Watch 1 is an expression of independent watchmaking from Singapore. It combines traditional finishing techniques, mechanical transparency and a highly personal approach to manufacture, demonstrating how artisanal horology can emerge beyond the traditional centres of watchmaking while remaining deeply respectful of its heritage.
