Description
GoS Watches has been working with Damascus steel in watchmaking since 2007 — longer than any other watch brand. Over nearly two decades, the craft has been continuously developed and adapted to the specific demands of the watch: scale, precision, and contrast control.
Winter Nights III is the fullest expression of this accumulated knowledge. The dial is hand-forged by bladesmith Conny Persson in the signature Wildflower pattern — a Damascus steel developed exclusively for GoS — then machined and finished by watchmaker Patrik Sjögren through an iterative process of sanding, etching, and contrast treatment. The result is not a surface treatment but a resolved object, in the way a painting is resolved: returned to until the depth and balance are exactly right.
The stainless Damascus steel case ring carries a permanently bonded patina — a proprietary oxidation process that enters the material rather than coating it, evoking the weathered surfaces of Viking-era artifacts. This ring is framed by an 18k gold bezel and caseback, both engraved by hand with a Viking braiding pattern rooted in Nordic decorative tradition. The gold components are cast in collaboration with a Swedish master goldsmith, then brought to final tolerance and surface finish in the GoS atelier.
Winter Nights III is limited to 12 pieces. Every watch is made to order.
Supplied by the brand to the GPHG for its entry.
